Ger Baron started working for Amsterdam Innovation Motor (AIM) in 2007, as project manager to develop projects in the field of ICT. He was responsible for starting up the Amsterdam ICT cluster and initiated several projects through public-private partnership. Amongst these projects, there are several related to the development of Amsterdam Smart City.
He started his professional career in Accenture, working as analyst in the consulting department. After this, he has worked for the Dutch Social Democratic Party (PvdA) as a member of the national campaign team.
He studied at the University of Groningen and Stellingwerf College. He is also a founding member of Connected Village Foundation, a member of the advisory board of World Smart Capital, and an associate to Creative Cities Amsterdam.
