Born in Lille, Hugues Fourmentraux graduated from ENSAM (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers) in 1990.
He joined the group in 1995 at Sogea Nord. There he successively held the positions of works manager, principal works manager, operations manager and then director of building activities from 2001 to 2005. He then left the Nord region for the Rhône-Alpes region where he joined the Lamy company as deputy director.
In 2007, he joined the teams of Sogea Nord-Ouest and was entrusted with the Normandy regional building division when it was created in 2008. In 2010, he took over the Normandy Centre division of VINCI Construction France.
On February 10, 2011, he was appointed Director of Operations for the Grand Ouest region of VINCI Construction France and Deputy Managing Director on January 28, 2013.
Hugues Fourmentraux was appointed Managing Director of VINCI Construction France on July 1, 2015 and then President on January 1, 2016.
